****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Hello surfers and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves.com for todays news on surfing and weather conditions here on the happy little holiday island of Bali.
Nothing happening surf wise here on Bali’s Premier west Coast today with another “no show” swell. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport left this morning was once again lapping onto the reef in the ankle to knee high class, with the occassional knee high plus freak set. So for those in town that have to surf the East Coast is where you had better go look. Down around the Southern end of the island at locations from Nyang Nyang’s through to Nusa Dua (Geger beach). But even then your not going to be finding too much size or power.
Wind direction has been coming out of the WSW @ 6-9knot
Tidal info for today has a 1.5mtr High @ 6.00am then a midday 0.8mtr High, and finishing off the day with another 2.1mtr High around 6.00pm.
Weather wise there’s been no rain in sight, nothing but very hot and humid conditions along the beach. Perfect for a swim with the water temperature sitting on 25 degree’s Celsius.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you’ll find that –1AU$=Rp8,600 — 1US$$=9,400 — give or take ro Rupiah depending on vendor.
Our man on the scene at Byron Bay on Australia’s holiday coast has also sent us through another up date and you can find that on the Byron Bay to Lennox Head report page.
Ok crew take my word for it that the surfs down, I’m pretty sure you don’t need to see photos of tiny waves with on-shore wind, or for that matter tiny waves with off-shhore wind. But as soon as there’s something worth shooting we’ll have some new photos for ya’s.
Holiday Season up-date, If any of you guys and girls have been here in Bali through the Christmas / New Year period then you’d know what to expect. For those of you that haven’t it’s the time when just about every Indonesian living outside of Bali decides to drive their car here. The end result is traffic KAOS for anywhere in the Kuta to Seminyak area, and I do mean traffic grid lock. Anyone who hasn’t had their hotel booked for at least 1 month in advance hasn’t got a chance. This all starts anytime in the next week or so and runs through till just after the New Year.
If it’s clean safe and friendly accommodation here in Tuban only 300mtrs back from the Outer Reefs, including A/C, hot water, refridgerator & TV for US$15.00 (Rp150,000) per night (single) or US$18.00 (Rp180,000) for a couple and US$25.00 (Rp250,000) twin share. Then drop me an email but usually we do need a few weeks notice.
We are also now sending out brief random surf reports and ravings through Twitter mobile phone service so sign up today !
As you all know we have been trialing a new photo viewing program to make it easier for you to flick through the photos on site. Ok, as you also should know is that we highly value our advertisers / sponsors, as they help pay our running costs / bills etc etc. So at the end of the trial period (1 month) if our advertisers / sponsors are still getting the same amount of views and visits then we will keep this system in place. If not then it’ll be back to the old system !!! So please make the time to visit the good folk who help keep the baliwaves on your monitor.
Now’s also a good time to start planning your 2010 Bali / Indo surf trip. If it’s an island hoping adventure on a live aboard surfing charter boat make sure you take a look at what the boys from www.indoocean.com have got on offer for you. G-Land, start getting your friends together for the ultimate surfing adventure at one of the surfing wonders of the World. Check out the guys at www.g-landsurfcamp.com for the experience. How about totally spoiling yourself at one of the private island resorts (Kandui / Macaroni’s) up in the Mentawai’s ?
Have a good one and dop by tomorrow for the baliwaves.com Sunday Session.
Best Regards from Bali
