****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Hello surfers and welcome back to the baliwaves.com for todays run down on surfing and weather conditions here on the happy little holiday island of Bali. December already hey, and the start of the silly season. And Bali is certainly no different, the roads will soon be grid locked with domestic traffic and the night clubs full of party animals.
This mornings 7.00AM surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was looking both good and bad. The good point is that the swell has already started to show. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left is already breaking in the 2-3ft+ or chest to head high plus. The bad news is that the wind was already coming out of the NW @ 6-8knot and cross /on-shore here along the West Coast. Even so I did see a couple of decent head to over head sized waves peel off nicely and un-ridden on Middle Reef.
Surfing conditions were clean enough on the Outer Reefs but you could find much cleaner waves over on the East Coast this morning.
Tidal info for today has a 1.8mtr High at 10.00AM then running out for a 0.7mtr Low around 3.30PM. Today we also have a Full Moon rising so we will be seeing some big tidal movement over the next few days.
Weather wise this morning we are off to a great start with only blue sky and sunshine. Heading for a maximum temperature somewhere around the 33 degree Celsius mark. Currently the water temp is perfect for swimming and surfing @ 24 degree’s Celsius.
Swell Outlook for this week is looking much more promising for surf. Wave height for today is only going to be getting smaller, but fingers crossed by Wednesday we’ll see a new swell starting to show that should push wave height back into the head to double head high range, depending on locatiion. Things should stay that way through till Sunday before fading out.
Changing dollars to Rupiah and the Australian dollar is still the biggest mover and currently averaging around Rp8,645. for 1AU$. While the American buck is hovering around Rp9,425.
If it’s clean safe and friendly accommodation here in Tuban only 300mtrs back from the Outer Reefs, including A/C, hot water, refridgerator & TV for US$15.00 (Rp150,000) per night (single) or US$18.00 (Rp180,000) for a couple and US$25.00 (Rp250,000) twin share. As you all know we have been trialing a new photo viewing program to make it easier for you to flick through the photos on site. Ok, as you also should know is that we highly value our advertisers / sponsors, as they help pay our running costs / bills etc etc. So at the end of the trial period (1 month) if our advertisers / sponsors are still getting the same amount of views and visits then we will keep this system in place. If not then it’ll be back to the old system !!! So please make the time to visit the good folk who help keep the baliwaves on your monitor.
Thanks again and best regards from the real surfers paradise, Bali
