****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Hello surfers and thanks for taking the time out to stop by the baliwaves.com to see whats happening surfing and weather wise here on the No.1 surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Well yesterday was a bit of a lay day with the wind turning back to the West and then swinging further around into the southern quadrant. Wave height on the Outer Reefs was struggling in the shin bone to knee high range (1ft) between Kuta reef and Airport Left. One of our “have to surf everyday type guests” made the trek over to Nusa Dua (Geger Beach) and reported back that wave height down there was also lucky to reach chest high with cross / on-shore wind. Likewise was the word from our friends down at Uluwatu.
This mornings 7.00am surf recon of the Outer Reefs was pretty much the same as what was out there yesterday. Knee high waves with a light Westerly wind @ 1-3knot between Kuta Reef and Airport left. And with only a 1.5mtr High Tide (9.00am) there wouldn’t even be much happening down along the beach breaks. Maybe up at Canggu or further north at Balian you might find a waist to head high set wave.
The next Tide will be a 0.9mtr Low around the 2.30pm mark.
Weather wise we had more solid rain through the night and leaving us with an overcast start to the day. Temperature wise right now at 10.00am she’d be around the 28 degree Celsius mark with the humidity in full swing.
Swell Outlook for the next 7 days is showing a another small spike in wasve height on Wednesday through Thursday. And then another small swell arriving on Saturday to take us through the weekend. But it’s anyone’s guess what direction the wind will choose.
Kuta Beach fish stench up-date; While the wind turned back to the ESE we lost the stink of dead fish along the Kuta to Seminyak stretch of beach, with the off-shore wind carrying the dead fish and their smell away from the shore. And the net laying fishermen from Jimburan Bay really stepped up their operation with at least 40+ boats operating less than a kilometre out from the shore. This morning the local Kuta Council held a meeting to put an end to the boats working close to the beach, and hopefully an end to the once beautiful stretch of beach being littered and bombarded by the stench of roting fish.
If it’s clean safe and friendly accommodation here at Home Base in Tuban only 300mtrs back from the Outer Reefs, including A/C, hot water, refridgerator & TV for US$16.00 (Rp160,000) per night (single) or US$19.00 (Rp190,000) for a couple and US$26.00 (Rp260,000) twin share. Then contact slim.
