****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Hello surfers and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves.com for the run down on todays surfing and weather conditions here on the tropical holiday island thats got it all, Bali.
Well as I mentioned in yesterdays report that I’d be cruising across to the East Coast for a look. As you can see in the photos I snapped (4.15pm – 5.45pm) that there was some nice shaped waves in the head to almost double head high class breaking at Serangan. I was also pretty surprised that there was only around 20-25 surfers spread through two different sections. I turned up just a touch too late and missed the likes of Rizal Tanjung, Pepen Hendrix and Devis Ratif who were already towling off when I arrivved.
This mornings 6.30am surf check of the Outer Reefs was showing wave height now to have jumped into the head to double head high range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. There were already a couple of surfers in the water on Kuta Reef with head to head high plus waves. KR should improve through out the morning with the in coming tide. Middle Reef had double head high set waves but I didn’t see any surfers out there at the time.
Surfing conditions were not too bad for this time of the year with the wind coming out of the NNW @ 4-6knot. Blowing cross / on-shore here along Bali’s West Coast.
Tidal info for today has a 1.9mtr High @ 11.00am and then running back out for a 0.7mtr Low around the 5.00pm mark.
Weather wise this morning there’s no cloud in sight so we are going to be in for another hot and humid day along the beach. Temperature wise the mercury should peak around 33 – 34 degree’s Celsius.
Looking for a wave today once again the wind will more than likely swing further around to the Western quadrant so the East Coast will have the cleaner surfing conditions by mid morning.
Changing dollars to Rupiah and the Australian dollar is still the biggest mover and currently averaging around Rp8,600. for 1AU$. While the American buck is hovering around Rp9,400. Give or take a few Rupiah depending on vendor.
If it’s clean safe and friendly accommodation here in Tuban only 300mtrs back from the Outer Reefs, including A/C, hot water, refridgerator & TV for US$15.00 (Rp150,000) per night (single) or US$18.00 (Rp180,000) for a couple and US$25.00 (Rp250,000) twin share. Then drop me an email but usually we do need a few weeks notice.
We are also now sending out brief random surf reports and ravings through Twitter mobile phone service so sign up today !
As you all know we have been trialing a new photo viewing program to make it easier for you to flick through the photos on site. Ok, as you also should know is that we highly value our advertisers / sponsors, as they help pay our running costs / bills etc etc. So at the end of the trial period (1 month) if our advertisers / sponsors are still getting the same amount of views and visits then we will keep this system in place. If not then it’ll be back to the old system !!! So please make the time to visit the good folk who help keep the baliwaves on your monitor.
