****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
G’Day crew and once again welcome back to your baliwaves for todays low down on surfing and weather conditions here on the happy little holiday island of Bali. Todays photos are courtesy of Hendra and his Surf Photography Team down at Uluwatu.
First up the crew staying with us here at Home Base took a run back over to Serangan yesterday and reckoned it was pretty damn good with wave height pushing 5-6ft and A-Framing left and right. This morning’s 6.45am surf recon of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing wave height to have dropped off a foot in size between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. With the tide just coming off the bottom of a 0.1mtr Low there wasn’t enough water just yet for Kuta Reef ‘n Airport Left. But Middle Reef was peeling off some nice looking left handers in the head to head high plus class. No surfers in sight at the time. Hopefully if the wind stays calmish Kuta Reef will also have a few in the chest to head high plus range around mid morning.
Surfing conditions this morning are reasonably clean on the Outer’s with the wind light out of the NNW @ 2-4knot.
Next Tide will be a 1.9mtr High around the 12 noon mark.
Weather wise, no relief for the yet un-climatized today here in Bali. Blue sky and sunshine heading for a top temperature of around 34 degree’s Celsius. Water temperature is faultless at 24 degree’s celsius.
Looking for a wave, I’d say the East Coast will have the best / cleanest surfing connditions on offer and plenty of swell. Best time to hit it would be around 9.00Am as the tide starts to push back in.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta (Pete), — 1AU$=Rp8,700 — 1US$=Rp9,420 —
If it’s clean safe and friendly accommodation here in Tuban only 300mtrs back from the Outer Reefs, including A/C, hot water, refridgerator & TV for US$15.00 (Rp150,000) per night (single) or US$18.00 (Rp180,000) for a couple and US$25.00 (Rp250,000) twin share. Then drop me an email but usually we do need a few weeks notice.
We are also now sending out brief random surf reports and ravings through Twitter mobile phone service so sign up today !
As you all know we have been trialing a new photo viewing program to make it easier for you to flick through the photos on site. Ok, as you also should know is that we highly value our advertisers / sponsors, as they help pay our running costs / bills etc etc. So at the end of the trial period (1 month) if our advertisers / sponsors are still getting the same amount of views and visits then we will keep this system in place. If not then it’ll be back to the old system !!! So please make the time to visit the good folk who help keep the baliwaves on your monitor.
Now’s also a good time to start planning your 2010 Bali / Indo surf trip.
