****MIDDAY SURF UP-DATE****
Hello surfers and welcome back to the baliwaves.co for today’s news on surfing and weather conditions here on everybodies favorite tropical holiday island of Bali.
Well sorry there wasn’t an up date yesterday but the weather was pretty crapola all day, with on-shore wind out of the North and the odd drop of intermintant rain. I did here from my friend Devis Ratif who surfed at Serangan and he reckoned it really wasn’t worth the effort unless you were really hanging out for a paddle. Waist to chest high surf with the usual 100+ surfers / surfies spread through the line up.
This mornings surf check on the outer reefs was looking just the same as yesterday with 1-2ft of wind blown waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport left. Once againt he wind blowing out of the WNW @ 6-10knot. I’d be thinking the best waves over the past two days would have been had by the early risers staying up in the Balian / Medewi area. Canggu is also suitable in a North to North West wind but unfortunately the tide would have been a bit low.
Weather wise well after a week of sweltering heat and humidity of preparing my traditional fishing boat ready for new paint the weather has changed (re-Murphies Law) and has been raining on and off. But still the humidity is up there in the high 90% sector with midday temperatures of 29 to 30 degree’s Celsius.
Swell outlook for the next 7 days is looking positive. Wave height is expected to bump a foot or two through Sunday holding into Monday before fading out on Tuesday. Then it’s looking our first decent swell for 2010 should be waiting for us when we wake up on Wednesday. If the forecast holds true wave height should jump into the double head high plus range through till Thursday then starting to back off on Friday.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you’ll find that — 1AU$=Rp8,450 — 1US$=Rp9,220 —

Our New Photo program that we have been trialing has turned out to be a success and we’ll be keeping it. Our page view statistics show that our sponsors have been averaging pretty close to the same traffic as before, so a big thanks to you guys and girls.
