****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
Hello surfers and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves.com for todays run down on surfing and weather conditions here on the happy litle holiday island of Bali.
Well not much change in surfing conditions today, still small and weak but at least nice and wet and refreshing in for a paddle. The Outer reefs here in Tuban were only showing the same 1 foot of swell in between Kuta Reef and Airport left. But with a clean off-shore SE wind fanning it.
Not much choice for us other than to take another run back down to Uluwatu, and as ya’s can see in todays photos wave height was only still coming through in the waist to nipple high range. Surfing conditions down at Uluwatu were basically clean through the morning before the wind swung a little more to the SSE around midday. Similar number of surfers as yesterday out there with a surf school thrown in for good luck.
Tomorrow we’ll be back on the road in search of some bigger waves.
Tidal info for today had a 0.1mtr Low @ 10.30am and then running back in for a 2.0mtr High around 4.30pm.
Weather wise we’ve had nothing but clear blue sky and sunshine with a top temperature of around 33 degree’s Celsius.
Swell outlook for the next 7 days is not looking good and most locations through out Indonesia are goin g to be experiencing a serious lack of waves. Hopefully we’ll still be able to find a few for ya’s.
Lakey Peak on the island of Sumbawa. A friend of mine has just returned from Lakey Peak with some disturbing news and has asked me to pass it on to anyone planning a trip over to Lakey’s. Firstly it starts off at Bima Airport where you touch down in Sumbawa. The Imigration officers are requiring that all visitors (no one but surfers go there…) bring their original passport with them photocopies are not exceptable, unless that is you pay them to wave the requirement. Secondly while surfing down at Periscope’s (one of the most sickest right handers ever) my friends wife remained on the beach while the boys went surfing. Suddenly a local with the apropriate terrorist style head covering appeared from behind her and made a grab for their backpack. Automatically the lady held onto the bag and started to scream for help. Then the thief pulled a knife out and started slashing at the bag and the lady, resulting in a nasty cut on her forearm. Luckily the boys in the surf heard and saw the struggle and made a bee line to the shore. So proceed with caution.
