****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
Good afternoon to all you surfers tuning in for todays run down on surfing and weather conditions here the magical surfing holiday island of Bali.
Well we covered a few miles today and this is what we ended up with. My 6.15am surf recon on the Outer (swell & wind indicating) reefs of Tuban was showing wave height still holding in the 2-3ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. But with the wind already fresh out of the West South West @ 8-12knot.
So just for something different I took the crew over to the East Coast for a look at Green Bowls. Plenty of swell showing here but too much South in the wind making it too mushy. No surfers in the water down there. So with this wind it was either crowded but off-shore wind at Serangan or un-crowded and on-shore wind at Uluwatu. The vote was unanimous for Ulu and no crowd.
Arriving at 9.30am to find wave height in the solid 3-5ft range and only 3 other surfers in the water. As ya’s can see in the photos I shot there was still some clean faces to turn on. The best waves were hitting the Main Peak.
Weather wise it’s been stinking bloody hot all day.
