****LATE AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
Hi crew and thanks for waiting around for me to get back from an afternoon motorcycle ride down to Uluwatu for the you know what…. low tide Racetrack section.
First of all this mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was sadly to say showing smaller waves than the previous. Especially when most surfers that I talked to yesterday were hoping on a little more size. But there were still waves breaking in the 2-3ft range with the occassional bigger set wave hitting Middle Reef. Surfing conditions this morning were a little bumpy with the wind blowing on-shore out of the NW @ 3-6knot. There were surfers in the water from Kuta Reef down to Airport Left, but not too many.
So anyway as the photos say it all, I patiently hung out and waited for the tide to move through the High and start running out for the Low, which was penciled in for around 4.30 – 5.00pm. I turned up at Uluwatu @ 2.00pm to find wave height still rolling through the Bomby heading for the Main Peak up to double head high. I should also mention that by this time the wind had also swung back around to the SE-SSE and off-shore again. As the tide got lower so did the tube rides get longer. Plenty of local stand out surfers today like, Made lana, Made Lapur, Ketut Pitur (lifeguard/waterman) & Mustafa Jekson to name some.
I hung out way too long and ended up with over 600 photos, here’s the best of what I shot, around 90 photographs to help see out April. And remember on the sequence’s I only ever includ every 2nd or 4th frame. Coming home past Padang Padang and Impossible’s it was looking pretty small. Nothing breaking on Padang Padang, there was half a dozen surfers scattered along Impossible’s but I didn’t see anything over waist high break while I was there.
Weather wise it’s just been another hot and sunny day here on the holiday island of Bali.
Catch ya’s again tomorrow, have a good one and stay tuned to the oriiginal Bali surf & weather report website (since ’99) Cheers
