****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
G’Day crew and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves.com for our Sunday Session on surfing and weather conditions here on the best value for surfing dollar tropical holiday island of Bali.
Well we have had a good run of surf over the last few weeks but starting yesterday the swell forecasters got it right, pretty well flat here on the Outer Reefs of Tuban. This mornings surf check was only showing a knee to waist high wave breaking on Airport Left with at least 30 surfers out there. Zilch breaking on Kuta and Middle Reef, and it won’t be improving any with the tide running in for a 2.5mtr High around 10.30am.
Surfing conditions were clean and tidy with the wind coming out of the ESE @ 3-6knot, blowing straight off-shore between Kuta and Uluwatu.
The next Low tide will be a reef exposing 0.1mtr at 5.00pm
Looking for a wave this morning with the amount of swell that we have your probably going to find as good as it gets down along the beach breaks of Kuta to Seminyak. Otherwise you might find a few smallies up at Canggu to Balian stretch of coast. For the reef junkies Uluwatu would be the best location for size and power.
Weather wise we had some more heavy rain last night but this morning has cleared away and left a mainly blue sky with just some patches of light and high cloud. Temperetaure should be in the 30 – 32 degree Celsius range.
Swell Prediction for the next 7 days is looking like we are going to be extremely busy. Currently today and through Monday wave height is going to stay the way it is today, small. Then Tuesday morning we should see the start of a new swell that should keep building through to Wednesday. And by that stage just about all of Java and all the way East to Sumba will be blanketed with solid waves. The system should weaken some through Thursday but not a hell of a lot before another solid swell comes in over the back. Then bam it’s on again, with the peak happening on the Friday. Then tapering off through next weekend.
I also managed to get those photos from Padang Padang loaded up onto our Readers Report page so if you’e got the time check them out.
The Doc’s Canggu Surf Report,
12th June 2010
Smallish waves at Canggu, sets may be a little over head high, nice and
clean. 10 out on the left,20 on the right and with that number when a wave
came through more than one would claim it, and 30 on Sandbar. Agung De was
showing us what a boogy board can do on the left. Plenty of time to sit and
chat between sets..
Cheers, Doc
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you’ll find that –1US$=Rp9,140 — 1AU$=Rp7,600 — 1EU$=10,500 — give or take a few Rupiah depending on vendor.
