The Doc’s Canggu Surf Report,
15th June 2010
Well, the waves weren’t looking much at Seminyak, but with an early morning
low tide, Sandbar can be fun low tide, so I gave it a go. Arriving at
Pererenan there was a hopeful crew looking on. In fact the Canggu right was
the best performer with head high, clean waves. About 25 others thought so
too. Canggu left needed a set wave to make it work, but it worked well when
it did. Just don’t get washed inside onto the rocky shelf at low tide (like
I did). The only way back is to come ashore, walk around and paddle out
again.
Sandbar was a bit disappointing. Smaller waves peaking all over the place
with a fairly big crowd. The locals know how to pick them so they generally
get the best of what comes.
Have fun. Doc.
