****MIDDAY SURF UP-DATE****
Hello surfers thanks for stopping by the baliwaves.com for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions here on the tropical surfing orientated holiday island of Bali.
Well another non event in regards to swell forecasts this morning. All week every surf forecasting website has been indicating that we would be in for first big swell of the season ranging from 18-20 seconds of period. Well she hasn’t happened yet. Don’t get me wrong there’s still plenty of swell but no where near the size of the predictions.
This mornings 7.30am surf check on the Outer Reefs was showing wave height to have increased from 2-4ft+ yesterday to 3-5ft+ today. Kuta Reef is peeling off nicely in the head to over head range but even at 7.30am there were already 30+ surfers out there. Middle Reef had a few bombs in the double head high plus sector and there also looked like there was a fairly solid contingent od surfers on it. Airport Left had waves in the head to over head head class and no doubt there’d be quite a few on her as well. The wind wasn’t too strong so I imagine the right hander would also be producing some quality waves.
Wind direction first thing this morning was coming lightly out of the North @ 1-3knot. Then around 9.00am she swung around to the ESE-SE and has increased to 4-7knot and may increase further through out the day.
Surfing conditions here along Bali’s West Coast are clean with off-shore wind between Kuta and Uluwatu.
Today’s Tidal information is saying we had a 0.7mtr Low @ 6.00am and then it will be filling back in with a 2.5mtr High around 12.00noon.
Weather wise we had more heavy rain through the wee early hours of the morning. That has now cleared away and left us with a very hot and humid midday temperature of 33 degree’s celsius.
If our swell does build some more through out the day I’d like to take a run down to Padang Padang later this afternoon toward the lower end of the tide and snap a few photos. if !
4.00pm up-date, no improvement in wave height. Quite the opposite with wave height now only showing in the 2-4ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left
