****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Hello surfers and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves.com for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions here on the happy little holiday island of Bali. And thanks to the crew at Hendra Surf Photography for helping us out with these new photos from Uluwatu.
First up, I was indisposed yesterday having to attend a meeting at our family’s village up in the mountains that is in the process of preparing for a very big cremation ceremony next month. But I did hear from reliable sources that wave height was showing a little more than the day before and was building through out the day. By sunset wave height would have been easily in the over head to double over head range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Doc from up at Canggu also sent us through a report and you can see that the photos and report were made before the swell started to kick right in. You can find “the Doc’s” Canggu surf report on our Readers Report page.
This morning’s 8.00am surf check on the Outer Reefs still had wave height in the head to double head high range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. It was looking really clean out there with straight lines hitting the reef. Kuta Reef was looking the best with the tide rolling in for a 2.4mtr High around 12.30pm. Middle Reef had double head high set waves on offer and will be worth a paddle after the tide peaks and starts to run back out.
Surfing conditions couldn’t be any better with the wind coming out of the ESE @ 5-10knot providing clean off-shore wind between Kuta and Uluwatu.
Tidal info for today started off with a 0.7mtr Low @ 6.30am and then another 0.2mtr Low just after sunset this evening.
Weather wise more blue sky and sunshine heading for a maximum temperature of between 30-33degree’s Celsius along the beach.
Looking for a wave today; should be pretty easy, all the main locations here along Bali’s South Western Coastline will have waves with clean off-shore wind.
Swell Prediction for the next 7 days is looking like we are going to be extremely busy. Currently today and through Monday wave height is going to stay the way it is today, small. Then Tuesday morning we should see the start of a new swell that should keep building through to Wednesday. And by that stage just about all of Java and all the way East to Sumba will be blanketed with solid waves. The system should weaken some through Thursday but not a hell of a lot before another solid swell comes in over the back. Then bam it’s on again, with the peak happening on the Friday. Then tapering off through next weekend.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you’ll find that –1US$=Rp9,125 — 1AU$=Rp7,600 –give or take a few Rupiah depending on vendor.
