****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Hello surfers and welcome back to the baliwaves and more of the latest news on surfing and weather conditions from here on the No.1 surfing holiday destination of Bali. Just to get the ball rolling again our friends down at Hendra Surf Photography (Uluwatu) dropped off some nice photos taken from the water at Padang Padang. Hendra and his Team are well equiped with a whole bunch of high end camera’s / lens and for the serious photo shoots they even have a jet ski.
Well 1 out of 2 for the swell forecasters and I suppose that’s not too bad, except for the people that have travelled to locations outside of Bali only to get skunked this morning. Wave height has bumped some on the Outer Reefs with 2-4ft+ waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Not quite the 17 – 20ft as forecasted. But hopefully it is still in transit and may increase further through out the day.
For now Kuta Reef was peeling off perfectly in the shoulder to head high class and will improve as the tide runs in a little more. Middle Reef at the time I was on the beach (7.30am) was looking about as good as it gets with head to well over head waves peeling off. I also had an text report from Uluwatu calling wave height to be coming through down there in the head to double head high class. I’ve also had news from my Balangan connection that wave height there is also a steady head to well over head and peeling off from behind the point.
Surfing conditions are not too bad but the ESE – SE Tradewind is blowing hard off-shore at 10-15knot and may also increase in strength as the day rolls on.
Tidal info for today has us down for a 0.6mtr Low @ 6.00am and then a solid 2.5mtr High @ midday and finishing off the day with a reef exposing 0.1mtr Low around 6.00pm.
Weather wise we have a fair bit of cloud moving over this morning but the wind is pushing it hard so I don’t think we’ll see any rain. Temperature wise the mercury should reach the late 20’s on the Celsius scale.
Ok crew, stay tuned and fingers crossed we will see some more solid swell swell hitting the reefs around Bali later this afternoon. If it does I’ll be back with an afternoon surf up-date. Until then have a good one !
