Oakley Indonesia is proud to announce their first ever Coca-Cola ISC Grade 2 Pro Junior event at the high performance black sand wave Mecca of Canggu on the west coast of Bali from August 1-6.
With a prize purse of over Rp 30 million, not only do the Under 21 year old contestants have the chance to bring home cash and valuable Coca-Cola ISC Pro Junior Division Championship points, the winner will stand a chance for a wildcard entry into the ASP sanctioned Oakley World Pro Junior Championships to be held at Keramas from October 2-13. The Oakley World Pro Junior boasts the richest prize purse in Pro Junior event history, with the winner coming home with a whopping US 20,000!
Oakley is dedicated to supporting the development of surfing in Bali and throughout Indonesia and sees events such as these Pro Junior events in addition to their annual 6-star Oakley Pro (held at Canggu in April) as great mediums for this effort.
“We are amped to see how the skills of the kids are improving so dramatically and we want to continue to provide them with opportunities to push themselves and keep on improving, so a specific Pro Junior event here in Bali is what we thought would accomplish this goal the best. Plus it’s a great opportunity to find out who will be strong enough to compete with the best Pro Juniors in the world in the upcoming Oakley World Pro Junior event,” said Oakley’s Sports & Alternate Marketing Manager; Gino Andrias.
The Pro Junior Division of the Indonesian Surfing Championships is specifically for surfers under 21 years of age, and it is expected to draw the top pro junior surfers from around all over Indonesia to compete in August.
