****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
Howdy folks and thanks for calling by the baliwaves.com for the latest news on surfing and weather info (not too mention all the photos) from here on the “sure thing” surfing holiday destination of Bali.
This mornings 7.00am surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was showing wave height to have backed off a touch from yesterday, but still showing in the 2-4ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The tide was pretty low at the time so there was no one surfing on Kuta Reef or Airport left. But Middle Reef did have some screamers peeling off in the head to well over head class. I’m sure with more tide over the reef KR and AL would have had some nice little waves.
As it says on photo No.1 the boys and I made tracks down to Uluwatu, arriving around 8.45 to find only around 10 surfers in the water down along the Racetrack section. The waves were still pretty ordinary at the time, but we new as the tide started to push back in the Main Peak would deliver. And it did, with wave height pushing double head high plus on the bigger set waves.
Surfing conditions have been clean and tidy all day with the wind coming out of the ESE – SSE gusting between 12 – 15knot+. Off-shore wind between Kuta and Uluwatu.
Tidal info for today had us down for a 0.4mtr Low @ 7.30am and then filling back in with a 2.2mtr High around 1.30pm.
Weather wise the day started off with more cloud cover but as the Tradewind gathered momentum it was soon just blue sky and sunshine. Temperature wise the mercury would have peaked around 30 – 32 degree’s Celsius.
Sms surf report from the G-Land Surf Camp was calling wave height to be hitting Kong’s and Money Tree’s in the double to tripple head high class. With high expectations for some Speed Reef tube time after the tide turns. 1 surfer in the water at the time of this report.
Sms surf report from Lakey Peak on the island of Sumbawa was saying that wave height was still hanging around in the head to over head high range on Lakey Peak. Clean off-shore wind through the morning.
