****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Hello surfers and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves.com for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions from here on happy little holiday island of Bali.
Well crew as of yesterday wave height has dropped away to all but nothing, lets be generous and say ankle to waist high on the bigger one’s. This mornings 6.30am surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was no different. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport left still only just lapping onto the reef in the ankle to waist high class. Although there was one lone surfer out on Middle Reef (low tide) and I did see him catch one that was around waist high. I don’t think there will be anything breaking out there as the tide fills in.
Surfing conditions are faultless with a light off-shore wind coming out of the NE @ 1-3knot. But will more than likely swing more to the ESE – SE increasing in strength through out the day.
Looking for a wave today there’s not going to be too many options available, but your best bet would be dow at Uluwatu around mid morning. Or maybe settle for the beach breaks around Padma St at midday.
Tidal info for today has us down for a 0.2mtr Low @ 7.00am and then filling back in with a 2.2mtr High around 1.00pm.
Weather wise it’s a shping up nicely for another top day along the beach. Mainly blue sky with some cloud to the north, temperature wise the mercury should easily bust into the low 30’s on the Celsius scale.
Swell situation for this coming week is looking pretty good. There is a new system currently in transit to Bali that should start to show itself late on Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning. Peaking on Wednesday and carrying us through into next weekend.
Traffic up-date, the last couple of weeks have actually been enjoyable to get out on the highway for a surf trip, since the start of the Ramadan fasting period. Still the normal jam of an afternoon around the Hard Rock cafe / Kuta beach area. Travelling North on the East Coast there is some major high way improvement work going down, a joint Indonesian / Australian project (Lembeng to Keramas plus).
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you’ll find that — 1AU$=Rp7,815 — 1US$=Rp8,885 — Rates will vary from vendor to vendor.
