****EVENING SURF UP-DATE****
Howdy folks and thanks for checking into the baliwaves.com for the Sunday Session on today’s surfing and weather conditions from here on the No.1 tropical island surfing holiday destination of Bali. Thanks to the crew at the G-Land Surf Camp for today’s handful of photos.
This mornings surf recon on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was once again only showing wave height to be lapping onto the reef in the ankle to knee high class between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. So with that info the boys and I decided on having a lay day and wait for our next swell to start showing, and that should hopefully be by tomorrow afternoon.
Looking for a wave today for those that just have to get in the water and surf, or die. You could have found a few smallies down at Uluwatu in the waist to chest high plus region. And I’m sure there would have been plenty of takers. I did get an sms surf report from Balian this morning saying that there was still some nice waves breaking on the A frame river mouth. Wave height was coming through in the chest to well over head range with around 30 surfers in the water. But game over by 10.00am when the ESE – SE Tradewind kicked in.
Surfing conditions between Kuta and Uluwatu today have been a typical, with clean off-shore wind coming out of the ESE – SE with gusts of up to 17knot.
Tidal info today said we had a 2.0mtr High @ 8.00am and running out for a 0.5mtr Low around 3.00pm. The next moon phase will be a Full Moon rising on the 24th of August.
Weather wise it’s been another mixed bag of sunshine and cloud cover around this part of the island. Temperature wise the mercury would have still cracked 30 degree’s celsius by early afternoon.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you’ll find that; — 1AU$=Rp7,925 — 1US$=Rp8,900 — Rates will vary from vendor to vendor. Another maney changer tip for ya’s, if you are going to change money at the airport when you arrive in Bali only change enough to get you to your hotel / accomodation. As the airport exchange rate is way lower than out on the street.
