****AFTER NOON SURF UP-DATE****
Hello surfers and welcome aboard the baliwaves for the start of another non working week here on the No.1 surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Ok and this morning’s 7.00am surf recon of the Outer Reefs was showing a nice little increase in size, with waist to over head waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport left. The tide was pushing in so Kuta Reef and Airport Left both had some nice shaped, clean waist to head high waves peeling off. While Middle Reef had more size it’s a way better wave on the lower end of the tide.
We decided on a lazy start and then hitting Uluwatu as the tide was running out. Arriving around 10.45am to find at least 100+ surfers scattered between Temple’s and the Racetrack. So it was pretty kaotic on the Main Peak until the tide started to get lower.. As you can se in some of the photos I shot today the low tide Racetrack section at Ulu was churning out some solid tube rides. Sorry I was using my 1000mm fixed lens today so the Racetrack is a bit too close from only 100yrds away. We left around 3.30pm and the waves were only getting better and better down the “Track”, with less and less surfers in the water.
Driving home past Padang Padang and Impossoible’s there were some small lines bending down the long stretch of reef at Impossible’s with around 40 surfers spread down the line. Pretty well micro class on Padang Padang.
Surfing conditions have been perfect all day with the wind coming out of the ESE – SE at Tradewind strength, gusting betwen 12-15knot.
Tidal info for today said we had a 2.1mtr High @ 9.30am and then she ran out for a 0.4mtr Low around the 4.00pm mark.
Weather wise around these parts it’s been hot and sunny with a midday temperature of 31 degree’s Celsius.
Sms surf report from the crew at the G-Land Surf Camp was saying that at 8.00am wave height was coming through in the head to almost double head high range. With the new swell direction the focus was on the bottom end of Money Tree’s into the Launching Pad, and the possibility of waves on Speed Reef.
