Macaronis Resort Surf Report – 26th July 2010
Hi All,
The Stickman here, back for the first time since 2008. And wow what a way to return to The Mentawai’s and Macaronis Resort. Our surf guides Nico and Hazza said it was some of the best waves of the season and through my years of being out here I can tell you it doesn’t get much better here at Macas. With 8 guests in the camp and 1 or 2 boats max. in the bay who could ask for a better trip. Our new 2 mooring buoy system is working great for boats and camp.
Todd Holland (ex pro surfer) was celebrating his marriage to Loren. Once again congrates guys. He hasn’t lost anything still charging and getting some of the deepest backhand barrels of the trip. Loren wasn’t to be upstaged either charging what Todd said to be some of the largest waves he’d seen her ride.
The 3 Aussie boys (Pat, Nick and Jamie) had a ball as we all did, but they did stitch us up with their “half hour of power” drinking sessions.Hahaha
Marcos riding his 8 6” short board scored some classic waves as well. We were getting worried when his wife Angela didn’t venture out of her villa for 3 days tho but when she finally came to the restaurant she really did come out of her shell. LOL
The grommet Christian after a roasting from the boys got one of the best barrels of his life. Good on ya mate. And not forget Snakey consistently surfing and always up for a bintang, Cheers mate
Our resident guest Peter ( Purple ) Hayes unfortunately will be leaving us at the end of this trip and will be greatly missed by all staff around here. Hayze comes to Macaronis Resort every year and every year extends his trip to stay longer. We all hope to see him back again soon.
Well crew it’s great to be back.
The Stickman over and out
