****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
Hi folks and thanks for calling by the baliwaves.com for our “1 click” run down on today’s surfing and weather conditions here on the 1 stop surf, fun and sun holiday island of Bali. Well today at least you could still have the fun and sun but we’ll have to wait for tomorrow for the surf.
This mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was as to be expected only showing wave height to be a weak wind driven 1 foot between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. With the wind fresh on-shore out of the WNW @ 4-7knot. Even so just for the hell of it we went for a drive over to the East Coast for a swell check.
Our first stop was at Padang Galak, but only to find 1-1ft+ waves breaking on the shore break and at least 25 surfers in the water. We were hoping to see enough swell to warrant the dash up to Keramas, but not to be. We also called into Serangan on the way back home to find wave height in the 1-2ft range and at least 100+ *surfers in the water.
Then within 5 mins of arriving the wind made things look even more ugly by swinging to the S-SW and more cross / on-shore. Who know’s there probably would have been a tad more swell further down the coast at Nusa Dua, but we’re waiting for some fresh new swell to arrive tomorrow.
Tidal info for today had a 0.1mtr Low @ 7.00AM and then filling back in with a 2.0mtr High around 1.00PM
Weather wise we had some heavy rain through the morning here in the Tuban / Kuta area. Then kinda clearing up for a partly sunny partly cloudy type day. Temperature wise it would have been 28-29 degree’s Celsius.
Swell situation for the next week isn’t looking too bad once we get through today and Tuesday. Hopefully by mid morning on Wednesday we’ll see the start of our next swell that should push the tempo back into the double head high plus range at the right locations. By Friday wave height will be back around the chest to head high class and then another slightly smaller swell to take us through next weekend.
