****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
Hi folks and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions here on the friendly little holiday island of Bali.
Well as you know by now the waves have been pretty fickle over the last couple of days. Yesterday mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing wave height to be only just showing in the 1 – 1ft+ range. Today the 18th and after having a lay day yesterday thought we’d take a run down to the southern end of the island and see what was doing at Uluwatu.
There were a few small waves for the keen with around 65 surfers spread out between Temple’s and the Racetrack. Temple’s was pretty small with a very infrequent waist high set wave. The Main Peak had waves in the waist to chest high with the very occasional head high freak set. While the top end of the Racetrack had a waist to waist high plus wave.
Surfing conditions here along Bali’s West Coast couldn’t have been much better with the wind coming out of the NE – E before swinging more to the E – SE after lunch.
Tidal info for today had us down for a 1.7mtr High @ 6.00AM and then running back in for a 0.8mtr Low around 1.00PM.
Weather wise we’ve had a pretty good one today with mostly blue sky and sunshine down on the bukit. Temperature wise it was a hot and humid 30 degree’s Celsius.
Swell predictions for the up coming week are looking pretty good for the lucky people still here in Bali. We should see the first signs of some waves by Wednesday morning with consistent head to double head high waves. Keeping everyone happy for at least the next 7 days.
