****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
Hi again crew and as you can see Ketut safely made the run up and back to Canggu and even managed to stop off at Padma St beach break in Legian. No waves worth raving about today, not for Bali’s usually high standards anyway. But at least there was a few waves for those that have to surf or die.
Weather wise it’s remained hot and sunny outside with the temperature easily busted into the 30’s on the Celsius scale.
****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Hello to all you surfers tuning into the original Bali Surf Report website (since ’99) for the only 1 click run down on today’s surfing and weather conditions here on the happy little holiday island of Bali.
Well things are looking a. little better out there this morning. Our 7.00AM surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing a slight bump in wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Not much of a jump in size but still a helluva lot more than what we had yesterday. With the tide on the way up there wasn’t much happening on Kuta or Middle Reef. But there was the odd waist high, 1-2 footer breaking on 2nd Reef (in between Kuta and Middle Reef’s). And with the nice sunny start to the day there were around a dozen surfers out there. Airport Left also had a couple of waist high set waves coming through at the time.
We loaded Ketut up with camera equipment and pointed him in the direction of Canggu earlier this morning. Since then he has phoned through to say that there were some waist to head high waves hitting the sand bar and river mouth. So as soon as he gets back after lunch we’ll have some new photos for you from Canggu. I’d have to also think that further up the coast at Balian there would be a few waves on it’s A Frame river mouth. Down south while the wind is still light and variable both Uluwatu and Nusa Dua would have a few waves up to head high. Keramas and Serangan could also have been another option for the East Coast.
Surfing conditions this morning were clean and smooth with the wind light and variable @ 1-3knot.
Tidal info for today has us down for a 2.0mtr High @ 11.00AM and then running out for a 0.5mtr Low around 5.00PM.
Weather wise so far today we got off to a great start with clam wind and blue sky. Right now at 9.45AM it’s still looking pretty good out there and shaping up for a big one along the beach. Temperature wise we should hit 29 – 31 degree’s Celsius by midday.
If any of you out there are already here in Bali maybe now is a good time to try some Balinese style sport fishing. There’s been some solid schools of GT’s and Tuna busting up the surface and Spanish Mackerel jumping. If your up to it just contact me and I’ll hook you up with the best fishermen in Bali.
