****AFTERNOON UP-DATE****
Unfortunately we missed the Andy Irons memorial paddle out this afternoon by just 15 minutes, bloody Kuta traffic…. There were 100’s of surfers and spectators in attendance to pay their respect to the late World Champion of the waves. RIP Andy Irons.
****MIDDAY SURF UP-DATE****
Hello surfers and welcome back to the one and only original Bali surf report (since ’99). For the 1 click run down on todays surf and weather conditions here on the always in season holiday island of Bali.
Once again this mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was only showing wave height in the knee to knee high plus sector between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. No one in the water while we were on the beach. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy with the wind coming lightly out of the NE @ 1 – 2knot.
As it says on photo No.1 Ketut made an early run back up to Canggu to see if there was still anything worth surfing, and yes there was. Wave height on the right hander was a consistent waist to waist high plus with the occassional bigger set wave hitting the left hand sand bar. At least 25 surfers on the right hand river mouth and another 10 – 15 on the sand bar. Surfing onditions at Canggu were also clean and tidy with the wind still light out of the ENE.
Ketut also made a stop off at Padma st beach break in Legian on the way back home (the last 4 photos in todays gallery) to find plenty of surfers spread out all the way along the beach breaks. Wave height was in the knee to waist high range with clean conditions.
Tidal indo for today says we had a 1.9mtr High @ 9.00AM and then running out for a 0.6mtr Low around 3.00PM. Tomorrow the 6th also has a Full Moon rising.
Weather wise it’s been mainly over cast with more light cloud cover with the odd sunny patch. Temperature wise outside it would easily be 29 degree’s Celsius.
Swell forecasts for this part of the World over the next 7 days are looking grim. No new swell on the radar at this stage.
The ISC and Billabong Indonesia will be holding a surfer paddle out at Half Way Kuta beach this afternoon around 5.00PM in respect of the late Andy Irons (3 time World Champion surfer). So try and turn up for it if you can.

We’ve all heard by now about the recent Tsunami that hit some of the Mentawai islands including the Macaronis Surf Resort (check out their website for more news from Maca’s). Most of the people affected were doing it tough enough with out the added disaster of being engulfed by a Tsunami in the middle of the night. A big thanks to the surf charter boats who imedietly started taking relief supplies into the affected areas. But in order to help, it all takes money, and that’s where the good people at Surf Aid International come in.
To find out how you guys can help check out their website www.surfaidinternational.org
Surf Aid International has been officaially appointed relief coordinators by the Indonesian Government.
