****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
Howdy folks and welcome back to the baliwaves.com for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions from here on the merry little holiday island of Bali.
This mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs had to wait until the rain backed off around 8.30AM. The wind was already strong out of the West at 10 – 12knot with waist to waist high plus on-shore mush breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. I’d imagine that the whole West Coast was out of the surfing equation today. But as you’ve already seen in today’s photo gallery Nusa Dua had some clean conditions and chest to well over head set waves.
The current was looking pretty merciless as no surfers were sitting where the better set waves were breaking at the top of the reef. Strong off-shore wind with something like 30 – 40 surfers scattered along the reef.
Tidal ranges for today had a 0.2mtr Low @ 7.00AM and then running back in with a 2.1mtr High around the 2.00PM mark.
Weather wise we started the day off with some rain, clearing up for some sunny patches and a mainly clear and sunny afternoon here in Tuban. Temperature wise, nice and mild between 26 – 28 degree’s Celsius
Traffic Alert; Domestic Christmas Holiday traffic is in full swing with afternoon grid locks on the main arteries. Then add in 3 taxi’s for every single tourist on the street.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta; — 1US$=Rp9,000 — 1AU$=Rp8,885 — Rates will vary.
We’ve also been playing around with our “Surf Spots” page where we are currently up-dating with more locations, and an extra bonus of Bali street maps. So go and get yourself lost in there !
I’d also like to mention to anyone that’s interested in doing some advertising on Bali’s biggest surfing website (us) that for a special 3 month trial period we’ll give you between 30,000 to 40,000 banner views per month for as little as US$100.00 per month. Try us out and you’ll see for yourself how we can boost your business.
