****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
Hello again to all you surfers tuning into the baliwaves.com for todays Sunday Session on surfing and weather conditions here on the “always on your mind” holiday island of Bali.
Well this mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs was again showing another slight nudge in wave height and energy. But still not quite big enough at knee to waist high on the bigger set waves. Kuta Reef and Airports were totally out of the question with the tide just coming off the bottom of a very low tide. But if there was just a touch more size Middle Reef would have had a couple of waves.
Surfing conditions at the time were clean and glassy with the wind coming lightly out of the N-NW @ 1-2knot. At the time it sounded like a good idea to wait until this afternoon and go and shoot some photos at Serangan. But unfortunately the wind decided to swing more to the SSW and increase up to 10knot. But you’ve already flicked through the photos right. There was still around 20 surfers spread over the 2 main take off zones and plenty of waves to go round for the keen.
Weather wise today it wasn’t too bad outside this morning with only light scattered cloud. It was more towards early afternoon that the clouds have started to roll in with the possible chance of a late afternoon, evening shower.
Ok that’s us for this weekend, but hey tomorrow see’s the start of another surfing week here on the holiday island. We’ll be hoping for more calm conditions tomorrow morning so call in after lunch to see what’s really going down at …..
Swell outlook for this weekend the charts are showing a slight improvement for today and Sunday. With Monday smaller, then the “yo-yo” effect (up and down) through until late Thursday when hopefully we’ll see the start of a nice new medium sized swell starting to build.
I’ve also loaded up a short story from a friend of mine named Corey Rix. Cory took a trip over to G-Land at the end of season and scored epic waves with only a handful of other surfers in the area. Check it out on the “recent posts”.
