****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
Hello surfers and welcome back to the baliwaves.com (’99) for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions from here on the friendly little holiday island of Bali.
Well this morning started off just the same as it did yesterday, strong rain through out the morning, eventually letting up around 10.30AM. Then there was just enough time for a quick surf check on the Outer Reefs before it started again. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left is still only showing in the ankle to knee high range. The wind was blowing on-shore coming out of the W-WSW @ 5-9knot, so the whole West Coast of Bali was pretty much out of the equation. I did get back down the beach for an afternoon check on conditions. Wave height hadn’t changed any but the wind had dropped off to only a light Westerly at 1-2knot. I also bumped into my friend Devis Ratif down the beach and he said that he surfed up at keramas in waist to waist high plus waves around mid morning.
Hopefully we’ll see more light wind and less rain tomorrow so we can break out the camera equipment. But at this stage it’s looking around this coming Monday we may see a little more motion on the ocean.
I’ve also loaded up a short story from a friend of mine named Corey Rix. Cory took a trip over to G-Land at the end of season and scored epic waves with only a handful of other surfers in the area. Check it out on the “recent posts”.
