****MIDDAY SURF UP DATE****
Hello again to everyone dropping into the baliwaves (’99) for the latest news on surfing and weather information (not too mention the photos hey) from the No.1 all year round surfing holiday island of Bali.
Ketut has been on the ball for us and as you can see Canggu was the place to be for some nice and clean fun sized, chest to over head waves. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy through the early morning, before the wind swung more to the West around mid to late morning. Crowd wise there were 25 surfers spread between the left hand sand bar and the right hand river mouth. Wave height on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was showing in the waist to chest high region between Kuta Reef and Airport Left.
Leo from Bali Surf Tours also sent through an sms surf report from Balian and Medewi up on Bali’s North West coast. Leo was calling clean and glassy waves hitting Balian in the head to almost double head high class.
Ketut has assured me that the weather has continued to be hot and humid with the midday temperature between 31 – 33 degree’s Celsius. I also spoke with him on the phone this morning and he said there was no visible ash or fall out from the erupting volcano in East Java.
Here in Newcastle this morning I haven’t even bothered to go and check the waves with the wind howling out of the E – SE. Not too worry as I’ll be on the highway soon heading North to visit my good friends at Diverse surfboards on the Gold Coast. And maybe a little taste of some super bank…
Ok that’s us for today but I’m pretty sure Ketut was heading back out somewhere again today to snap some more photos, so stay tuned to the original Bali surf report.
Happy trails
Slim
