****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Hello surfers and welcome back to the baliwaves (’99) for today’s “1 click” run down on surfing and weather conditions. Not to mention all the other information on Bali that’s loaded into the baliwaves to help make your next surfing holiday in Bali run all that smoother.
This mornings 7.30AM surf check on the Outer Reefs was showing a definite increase in wave height with shoulder to well over head waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Only the slightest touch of North in the near non existant wind at the time so surfing conditions were clean as glass. No surfers in the water. I also went back down for another check @ 10.00AM and conditions hadn’t changed much at all. Kuta Reef had some nice waves peeling off in the head to over head high class and still no surfers in sight.
Ketut has hit the road again heading for Keramas back over on the East Coast. He has phoned through to say that when he first arrived there was at least 15 surfers in the water with wave height coming through in the chest to head high range. But this must have been the dawn patrol crew that regularly hits Keramas. As by 9.45Am there was only 1 surfer left in the line up with clean and glassy head high waves. So I’ll get Ketut’s photos on line for you ASAP when he gets back to home base.
Tidal info for today has us down for a 0.6mtr Low @ 9.30AM and then running back in for a 2.1mtr High around the 4.00PM mark
Weather wise it’s another overcast day but only light cloud for starters. Expecting a warm and humid day along the beach with a maximum temperature between 28 – 31 degree’s Celsius.
If you haven’t already checked out the promo from Eat, Sleep & Surf about the two guys touring all of Indonesia’s best surfing locations on bicycle’s make sure you do. What a trip, if only I was that young and fit again….
Swell Forecast for the next few days is looking pretty wild and unstable. There is another solid storm building between Bali and North Western Australia and it has in it’s center wave height showing up to 40ft+. But not really directed at any land mass. The charts do vary quite a lot on the swell that will be generated over the next 48hrs, ranging from 13ft to 18ft for Bali. But the tell tale wave period is calling for a 10 – 11 second interval between waves. So I guess we’ll have to just wait and see what happens. But the next 7 days is showing waves all week for anyone lucky enough to be here on holiday.
