****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
Hi crew and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves.com (’99) for today’s 1 click run down on surfing and weather conditions from here on the all ways in season surfing holiday destination of Bali.
This mornings 7.00AM surf check on the Outer Reefs wasn’t looking too bad. Wave height was coming through in the solid head to well over head high range between Kuta Reef and Airports. Kuta Reef had some long clean and glassy waves peeling off in the chest to well over head class. No surfers in the water at the time with the tide already running out. I’d also imagine that there would have been a few nice waves breaking around on the other side of the runway first thing.
Ketut thought he’d try his luck taking a run down to Uluwatu, (Bali’s Premeir location) while the wind was still light. Ketut said surfing conditions were clean and glassy with head to double head high waves but it wasn’t lining up and a bit all over the place. Ketut hang out down at Ulu for a couple of hours but no other surfers showed.
Leo from bali surfing tours sent through a sms text surf report from Canggu this morning saying that at 9.00AM wave height was hitting the right hander and the sand bar sections in the solid head to almost double head high range. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy through the early morning turning side shore around 10.00AM
Kyle also sent us through an sms surf report from Keramas around midday telling of wave height ranging from head to almost double head high. Clean conditions through the early morning turning cross / on shore by midday. The crowd level was pretty normal with around 20 surfers in the water.
Tidal info for today had us down for a 0.8mtr Low around the 10.30AM mark and then running back in with a 2.1mtr High @ 5.00PM.
Weather wise it’s been a nice mainly sunny day here in Bali. Still plenty of blue sky outside now @ 4.00PM. Wind is currently coming out of the West @ 8 – 12knots and expected to be blowing hard over the next couple of days.
If you haven’t already checked out the promo from Eat, Sleep & Surf about the two guys touring all of Indonesia’s best surfing locations on bicycle’s make sure you do. What a trip, if only I was that young and fit again….
