****MIDDAY SURF UP DATE****
Hi everyone and thanks for dropping by the baliwaves.com (’99) for our 1 click run down on surfing and weather conditions from the first choice surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Ok it’s all been happening from smoking waves at Keramas, cyclone’s and website hackers. This current photos gallery we have for you (thanks to Ketut for holding the fort for me while I’m indisposed) is showing some solid waves hitting the shelf at Keramas. These photos were taken on the 1st of Feb, unfortunately according to Ketut the weather wasn’t the best for riding motor bikes and shooting photos yesterday the 2nd. Still low numbers in the water on the day, ranging between 15 – 20 surfers.
On the same day there was only a weak looking knee to waist high plus wave breaking between kuta Reef And Airport Left.
And thanks to Leo at Bali Surf Tours was telling of clean and glassy waves in the waist to head high region at Canggu.
All in all it looks like there’s still plenty of waves to be had over at Bali. So now might be a good time to break away for some perfect waves.
I managed to do a whirlwind under the radar run up to the Diverse HQ on the Gold Coast. Leaving Newcastle at 11.00AM on Tuesday and returning at 9.00PM last night, Wednesday. The Gold Coast was in no way under any threat from Cyclone Yasi that just ripped through North Queensland. I’d Just picked up a whole car full of new boards (and fins thanks to Steve) and the super bank was looking poorly at knee to waist high with a strong on shore wind. Maybe in a day or two there might be a few left handers at Kirra with the NE swell expected.. Anyway that’s why I went in and out quick. Not to mention the cost of living differences that I’m normally subject to. Plus a big thanks to Dave at Diverse surfboards for some sick looking new boards. And to Steve for all the new fin combo’s I’ll be able to try.
Seeing as though I was on the road for the majority of the last 48hrs it wasn’t until a friend called (I think I was just passing through Balina heading south) to tell me that baliwaves.com had gone down at the hands (or I should say paws) of dog shit hackers. It only really high lights baliwaves as being the No.1 Bali surf report website on the net since 1999. This hack didn’t take to long to fix and we’ll be keeping an eye on any further activity.
Hopefully Ketut will have some new photos for us again later this evening so have a good one for now and stay tuned to the baliwaves.com
