****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hello again to all you surfers tuning in to the baliwaves (’99) again and just hanging out to see what’s been going down over here on the with out a doubt best value for surfing holiday dollar tropical paradise of Bali.
By now I’m pretty sure you all realize that yesterday the 5th was a special day here in Bali. Surfwise I’m sure no one really missed out on anything special. There was no external noise at all out on the streets, except for the howling Westerly whistling through the tree’s. Me myself, I’d like to have another Nypie Day next week as well if I could.
This morning and it’s back to game on for the surfers. Knowing that there’s no serious swell available at the moment we went back over to one of my favorite locations on the East Coast, Keramas. As you’ve already seen in today’s photo gallery there were still some fun and super clean little waves on offer, ranging between waist and the very occasional head high freaky.
Surfing conditions were clean with only a very light wisp of an off shore breeze through until around 11.00Am, and that was enough for us. It’s also been good to see all the Balinese micro grommets out surfing my last couple of sessions at K-mas. For me it’s the 3rd generation of up and coming future surfing champions I’ve seen starting off surfing, since living full time here in Bali. Just to see the stoke in their eye’s when they come in takes ya back to the beginning.
Now, I’ve found a handful of these local kids who still have to wait for their mates to finish surfing first before they can borrow an old beat up board and get out there for a few. So if anyone is coming over to Bali soon and would like to leave one of their old boards to a kid drop me a line and lets do it. I’ll be taking two of my old sticks up there for them on my next visit.
Leo from Bali-surfing.com sms’d through his surf report from Canggu where he headed for at first light this morning. Apparently wave height was braking in the waist to head high range from Echo beach down to the right hander on the river mouth.
Tidal info for today had us down for a 2.4mtr High @ 11.30AM and then running out for a 0.3mtr Low @ 5.00AM.
Weather wise it’s been pretty mild with a mainly cloudy and overcast sky. Temperature wise around the 27 degree’s Celsius mark with a fair bit of humidity thrown in.

Night club danger; New’s came through to me of an Australian having the shit kicked out of him by no less than 6 security staff in a Kuta night club on Friday night. Apparantly the English owners of the bar gave the order to the security staff…. Caruso’s Bar.
Best Regards in Surfing
