****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hi crew and thanks for dropping by the baliwaves.com (’99) for today’s 1 click run down on surfing and weather conditions from here on the happiest of all, tropical holiday island destinations of Bali.
Here’s to my boy Wayan Ray, Happy 3rd Birthday mate.
Alright I suppose I had better give ya’s the full picture today so put on your glasses and get reading. This morning started off nicely after a night of solid rain, thunder and lightning. With the wind just a puff coming out of the NNW we decided to wait until the tide started to come off the bottom before making our way up to Canggu. As you may have already noticed after flicking through todays photo gallery, surfing conditions were clean and tidy with wave height a solid 3-4ft+ (head to well over head high).
The left hand reef break was smoking through some sick ledging barrels and that’s where the majority of surfers were riding, around 8 – 12 in total. The left hand sand bar was still in need of a little bit more water but improving with every wave, only 4 surfers were riding the sand bar. The right hander on the river mouth was also improving with the tide. First up there were only 3 surfers on it, but as the tide kept creeping in soon grew to 20.
Tidal info for today had us down for a 0.3mtr Low @ 7.00AM and then filling back in with a 2.5mtr High around the 1.00PM mark.
Weather wise it was mainly overcast through the early morning but around mid morning we started to get some sun shine. Temperature wise the mercury would have made it to around 29 degree’s Celsius on the black sand beach of Canggu.
Swell forecast / prediction. After checking out my favorite swell forecasting websites, and by the way the only really accurate swell information on Bali / Indonesia in my opinion comes from Stormsurf.com. Anyway tomorrow the 11th looks like we will see slightly smaller surf than today. Dropping off a touch more on Saturday morning, then when we wake up on Sunday it’s going to be a whole new ball game. We should have solid head to double head high plus plus waves rocking through into Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday should still be providing plenty of opportunities for a decent wave, slightly smaller for the following Thursday.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you will find that — 1AU$-Rp8,775 — 1US$=Rp8,550 —

Night club danger; New’s came through to me of an Australian having the shit kicked out of him by no less than 6 security staff in a Kuta night club on Friday night. Apparently the English owners of the bar gave the order to the security staff…. Caruso’s Bar.
Best Regards in Surfing
