****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hello surfers and thanks again from dropping by the baliwaves (’99) for the news on today’s surfing and weather conditions from here on the best value for surfing holiday dollar tropical island paradise of Bali.
Our early morning intel on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban wasn’t looking too bad. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport left had increased into the 2-4ft range, with a light Northerly wind on it. There were a couple of early risers already in the water at Middle’s. No one out on Kuta Reef or Airport Left at the time.
But with the promise of more swell and with the wind out of the North and predicted to swing further around to the North West we took our chances and headed over to the East Coast. Our first stop was at Keramas to see wave height in the 2-4ft range and some really nice waves on the main break. But with already 25 surfers in the water and more constantly arriving we snuck back down the coast to Secrets.
Twenty minutes later and we were looking at some ok waves braking up to head high plus with clean and light wind. There were two other surfers riding the main beach break but no surfers out riding the left and right reef. My crew had it to themselves for a good hour before three other friendly surfers from Byron Bay pulled up and joined in the fun.
Driving back home I was getting the feeling that the wind had shifted again, shifted to the good old Eastern quadrant, I could smell it. Sure enough I was only back in the door and getting ready to be chained to the computer when the phone rang with news of Uluwatu going off. Needless to say the boys grabbed their boards and headed for the Outer reefs, deserted.
Tidal info for today had us scheduled in for a 0.6mtr Low @ 7.00AM and then running back up for a 2.3mtr High around the 1.00PM mark.
Weather conditions, it was good to warm up under a mainly blue sky today. Temperature wise the mercury would have easily made it to 30 degree’s Celsius by midday.
Good news for any of you that want to get over to the legendary location of G-Land this year as baliwaves.com will still be dishing out a solid 15% discount off their advertised prices for the G-Land Surf Camp. All camps at G-Land will be re opening in March 2011 so if you want some un crowded G-Land get in early. Make sure you contact us first if you want that 15% rebate back in your pocket.
