****MORNING SURF UP DATE****
Hello friends and welcome back to the baliwaves (’99) for this mornings heads up on surfing and weather conditions from here on the ever popular surfing holiday destination of Bali.
My early surf recon of the Outer Reefs (6.15AM) was showing wave height to have backed off a touch from what was out there yesterday afternoon, but still holding in the 2-4ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Unfortunately the wind is already up out of the NNW @ 5-9knot, hitting the waves from cross on shore. Even so there were still a couple of boat loads of surfers heading out towards Kuta Reef, for the 8.00AM Low tide ? Lets keep our fingers crossed for another little taste of cleaner wind later this afternoon.
This morning the final heats of the Oakley Pro ’11 will be getting under way. Surfing conditions up at Canggu should be clean and tidy and perfect for the remaining surfers still trying for the prize money. So try and get up there for a look at the action if your here in town. Oakley are also holding a beach clean up after the event and all participants who help out will get a free lunch and an Oakley t-shirt to take home.
I don’t think I’m going to be rushing off anywhere this morning, seeing as though it’s Sunday and I’ve just come off 50 straight 12hr days, forgive me. But if the wind does swing to the Eastern quadrant I won’t be able to control myself I’m sure.
Tidal info for today like I mentioned had a 0.8mtr Low @ 8.00AM and then will be running back with a 2.2mtr High.
Weather wise it’s looking real good outside this morning, pretty much nothing else but blue sky. Temperature wise the lucky buggers already here in Bali can expect the mercury to punch into the low 30’s on the Celsius scale.
Good news for any of you that want to get over to the legendary location of G-Land this year as baliwaves.com will still be dishing out a solid 15% discount off their advertised prices for the G-Land Surf Camp. All camps at G-Land will be re opening in March 2011 so if you want some un crowded G-Land get in early. Make sure you contact us first if you want that 15% rebate back in your pocket.
We’ve also been playing around with our “Surf Spots” page where we are currently up-dating with more locations, and an extra bonus of Bali street maps. So go and get yourself lost in there !
Best Regards in Surfing
