****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hello surfers and another big thanks for stopping by your baliwaves.com (’99) for today’s 1 click run down on surfing and weather conditions from here on the best value for surfing holiday dollar destination of Bali.
This mornings early intel on the Outer Reefs was of wave height to have dropped off a touch, and down in to the waist to head high range. That was at 6.30AM, by the time we had finished the morning rituals and got back down there with our boards for an easy paddle some of the bigger set waves were pushing double head high. Nice, so we quickly comandeer’d a reef taxi and set off to Middle Reef.
Even at 10.00AM there were only two other friendly surfers in the water at Middle’s, and with the tide starting to run out and a light off-shore wind things were looking real good. It stayed like this for another good hour before the number of surfers slowly climbed to around 25. It was also good to catch up with the friendly old bunch of ex pat boys who frequent the line up at Middle Reef. Coming back in past Kuta Reef we timed it perfectly to sea some lucky bastard get shacked off his head on a head high wave. Could be good at KR later this afternoon when the tide starts to run back in.
But as you’ve seen in today’s photo gallery courtesy from our good friends at HENDRA SURF PHOTOGRAPHY down at Uluwatu. The boys dropped us off this batch of photos they took down at Uluwatu and at Padang Padang on our last swell. The first 16 are Ulu and the rest Padang Padang.
Today’s new swell should still be providing us with waves again tomorrow and we’ve already got plans in place for another surf mission to… Then it looks like sometime on Monday we should have another fresh swell producing perfect waves through most of Indonesia.
Tidal info for today had us down for a 2.1mtr High @ 8.30AM and then running out for a 0.6mtr Low @ 3.00PM
Weather wise nothing but blue sky for the first half of the day. Currently now @ 2.00PM the outside temperature is sitting on 29 degree’s Celsius and the Humidity @ 73%. Wind direction is coming out of the East @ 11kmph.
Today’s news from the G-Land Surf Camp was calling wave height still coming through in the double to double head high plus sector with surfing conditions clean and glassy while waiting for the off shore wind to kick in. The best waves were on Kongs and Money Tree’s with 8 surfers in the water @ 7.00AM (East Java).
I haven’t seen the exchange rates for a couple of days now (no dollars to cash..) but you can count on the Aussie dollar to still be a good little earner and well over the Rp9,000. mark. I’ll keep my eye’s peeled next time I’m in town (Kuta).
We’ve also got some new surfing / accommodation packages sorted out for those of you who want nothing more to think about except surfing, at the right place at the right time. Hit this info link to find out more.
Good news for any of you that want to get over to the legendary location of G-Land this year as baliwaves.com will still be dishing out a solid 15% discount off their advertised prices for the G-Land Surf Camp. All camps at G-Land will be re opening in March 2011 so if you want some un crowded G-Land get in early. Make sure you contact us first if you want that 15% rebate back in your pocket.
We’ve also been playing around with our “Surf Spots” page where we are currently up-dating with more locations, and an extra bonus of Bali street maps. So go and get yourself lost in there !
Best Regards from Bali
