****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hello to everyone tuning into the baliwaves (’99) for the start of another surfing week and for the latest news on today’s surfing and weather conditions from here on the No.1 surfing holiday destination of Bali.
This morning’s 6.45AM surf recon of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing wave height to be still hanging on in the waist to chest high range between Kuta Reef and Airport left. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy with the wind coming out of the NW @ 5kms. Just for the record it was 27 degree’s Celsius at the time.
As it say’s on photo No.1 in today’s gallery the boys and decided that Canggu would be one of the better choices, given swell size, wind, tide etc. And it turned out to be an ok call. We arrived just as the tide was passing through the top. But it wasn’t long after and we had some punchy little waist to head high waves coming through. Crowd wise it was very light at Canggu this morning with only 1 surfer down on the left hand reef. 2 surfers had the sandbar to themselves and around 10 – 15 surfers on the right hand river mouth.
Surfing conditions were clean with a light off-shore wind through until 10.00AM, then glassing off for another hour before the on shore came up.
Tidal info for today was calling in a 2.4mtr High @ 9.00AM and then running out slowly for a 0.3mtr Low around the 4.00PM mark. Tomorrow see’s the Full Moon rising so we will be getting some good tidal range through this coming week.
Weather wise it was mainly sunny up at Canggu while we were on location. But you could see some solid nasty looking rain storms blanketing the bukit and all the way back to Kuta.
Today’s news from G-Land thanks to the G-Land Surf Camp was saying that wave height was coming through in the shoulder to well over head range from Kong’s all the way to the Pad. AT 8.30AM (East Java) there were 3 surfers in the water.
