****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hi crew and thanks for sticking around for the latest news on today’s surfing and weather conditions from here on everybody’s favorite surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Well as I mentioned in this morning’s Twitter up date my 6.30AM surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing a slight bump in wave size. From yesterday’s dead flat to a now 1-2ft+ between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Surfing conditions at the time were clean enough but with a strong ESE-SE off shore Tradewind gusting up to 25kms. Weather wise it was 27 degree’s Celsius with the Humidity @ 79%.
We decided that our best bet to score some smoking barrels would be to hang out all day and wait for the afternoon Low tide to go down on the Racetrack section at Uluwatu. Arriving at Ulu @ 4.00PM to find wave height hitting the Main Peak and Temple sections in the 3-4ft range (head to well over head). With the tide just starting to drain off the reef the Racetrack still needed another hour to start pumping. And as you can see in this current photo gallery I snapped this arvo it surely did. We hung out till just after the sunset and topped the day off with an icy cold Bintang beer at local surfing identity, Made Lana’s cliff side bar “The Edge”.
Right now @ 8.30PM outside the temperature is back down to 27 degree’s Celsius with the wind having settled down some, back to 15kms coming straight out of the East, and the Humidity hardly there at all @ 74%.
Ok Hopefully we are still going to be feeling some of this new swell left for tomorrow, so stay tuned and we’ll be out there looking for more waves to keep that Bali fever burning.
