****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Howdy folks and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves.com (’99). Just to bring any of our new viewers up to scratch, baliwaves.com was the first Bali information / photo website on the entire internet, and still the best. Anyway we don’t like to brag too much. So, welcome to the weekend and the latest surfing and weather info to come out of the friendly little surfing holiday destination of Bali.
This morning we knew what we were in for, small waves. So in our opinions we knew the only place where we would find anything that resembled a wave, with off shore wind on it was going to be down at Uluwatu. We pulled into the car park around 6.45AM to find wave height in the 1-2ft+ range while the tide was just on the bottom of the Low. Already there were at least 15 other surfers who knew to get out there early, if at all.
As you’ve already seen in today’s mini gallery I’ve loaded there was the odd wave in the shoulder to shoulder high plus region, but not too many. As the tide started flooding back in towards mid morning the number of surfers on the Main Peak and Temple sections would have totalled at least 100.
Driving home past Padang Padang and Impossible’s it was pretty well flat all the way down to Balangan. Since getting home from Uluwatu a quick check on the Outer Reefs also revealed a dead smooth ocean. Hopefully some time in the next 24hrs we’ll start to see our next batch of waves arriving for another round. You know we’ll be all over it so drop in if you get time on Sunday afternoon. That’s if we get our internet working by then, currently day 2 of lousy to no service.
Tidal info for today had us down for a 0.6mtr Low @ 6.00AM and then filling back in with a 2.5mtr High @ midday.
Weather wise there was a few drops of rain early in the morning. Mainly fine and sunny with some cloud from time to time.
The latest news from G-Land thanks to the G-Land Surf Camp was also calling wave height down into the 1-2ft+ plus range with no surfers in the water at the time of the report (8.00 AM East Java time).
