****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
Howdy crew and welcome back to your baliwaves (’99) for today’s 1 click run down on surfing and weather conditions from here on the No.1 surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Well seeing as though the power was off yesterday afternoon my friends and I thought we’d better retreat to the comfort of a little cafe down by the beach and have “a couple” of bintang beers. I think it was around 5 hours later we rolled out and I wasn’t in any shape to type up a surf report, sorry.
But all is good this afternoon and as ya’s have already seen in today’s photo gallery (or read on our “on location” twitter report) we were back down at Bali’s premier surfing location, Uluwatu. This mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing a pretty well flat ocean with only half to one foot ripple breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left.
So Uluwatu it was. We turned into the car park around 8.30AM to see wave height hitting the Main Peak and Temple sections in the waist to head high class. Clean and very tidy surfing conditions with the wind coming out of the ESE @ 6 – 10kms. Not too bad crowd wise either with around 65 surfers spread from the Track all the way down to Temple’s.
Tidal info for today had a 1.9mtr High @ 6.00AM and then running out for a 1.0mtr Low @ 12noon. Then finishing off the day with another 1.6mtr High @ 6.00PM.
Weather wise we’ve had another mainly hot and sunny day with a few scattered clouds passing through. There was also a big water spout coming out of a nasty looking cloud twisting all the way down to the ocean at Uluwatu today. Temperature wise the mercury would have easily busted the 33 degree’s Celsius mark. Currently now @ 5.00PM we have an outside temperature os 28 degree’s Celsius and the himidity on 75%. Wind direction is coming out of the SE @ 19kms.
Today’s G-Land surf report from the crew at the G-Land Surf Camp was calling wave height to be in the shoulder to over head range breaking on Kongs and Money Tree’s down to the Pad. Surfing conditions were clean and tidy with the off shore wind just starting to kick in at 9.00AM (East Java).
