****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hello everyone and welcome back to your baliwaves (’99) for the start of another surfing week. And the latest news on surfing and weather conditions from here on the best value for surfing holiday dollar tropical island of Bali.
This mornings surf check on the Outer reefs went down through a wet and overcast 7.30AM. Still some swell showing out there with waist to head high plus waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The tide was still in so Kuta Reef was looking the better option, Middle Reef on the lower end. But it was pretty testy with the wind already gusting hard off-shore up to 12-14knot+ out of the SE.
So we decided we’d try and get out of the wind, as it was sure enough going to crank up harder by midday. So we headed for Balangan, arriving at 10.00AM to see some nice lines breaking on the point and middle sections. Wave height as it shows in today’s photo gallery was ranging from head to well over head. I was also happily surprised to only find around 15 surfers in the water at that time of the day. We hung out till 1.00PM and by that time it was getting a bit too low for the point but still a few breaking nicely through the middle.
Tidal info for today had a 2.1mtr High @ 7.00Am and then running back up for a 0.7mtr Low around the 1.30PM mark.
Weather wise it’s been pretty much a typical winters day here in Bali. We kicked off the day with early morning rain that turned into a light drizzle through till 11.00AM. The wind has been strong off shore out of the SE, currently gusting to around 15-18knot+. Temperature wise right now @ 3.30PM it’s sitting on 27 degree’s Celsius, humidity is on 78% and a solid chance of more rain later this evening.
The next weeks swell predictions are looking almost as good as last weeks. Hopefully by tomorrow afternoon we’ll see the start of our next batch of waves. It should be getting fairly solid through Wednesday and holding through Thursday. Maybe just tapering off a touch on Friday with still some left to get us through next weekend.
Today’s G-Land Surf Report thanks to our friends over at the G-Land Surf Camp was calling head to well over head high waves hitting the bottom of Kong’s to the top of Money Tree’s.
