****MORNING SURF UP DATE****
Hi folks and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves (’99) for the start of what’s looking to be a big week of surfing coming our way. Not too mention all the latest news on surfing and weather information from here on the friendly little holiday island of Bali.
I was up before the sparrow’s this morning and down at the beach by 6.15AM for the ritual surf check on the Outer Reefs. At the time wave height was breaking in the 2-3ft class between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. There were already surfers in the water on all of the main sections and more troops arriving as I was heading home. The tide was still coming in so Middle Reef was looking the best. But as the tide fills in Kuta Reef and Airport Left will be better options.
You also would have scored more clean waves up at Canggu this morning with the Northerly wind providing off-shore conditions. Down on the southern end of the island Balangan would have a few fun sized waves in the head high plus region. And no doubt as soon as the Tradewind kicks in Uluwatu will be cranking as usual.
Surfing conditions early this morning were not exactly picture perfect as the wind was pretty fresh coming out of the North @ 10knot. Pretty much a sure thing that the wind will swing back to the SE – ESE anytime soon and more than likely increse into the 15 – 20knot class by early afternoon.
For anyone that didn’t get a chance to tune in over the weekend there was some nice waves and we were there to photograph some for you. So take a short walk back in time and check out “afternoon at the track #3082” that went down on Saturday.
Tidal info for today has a 2.2mtr High @ 8.00AM and then running out for a 0.6mtr Low around the 2.30PM mark. The Full Moon is coming up on the 15th of this month so get ready for some nice waves with wide open tidal differences.
Weather wise we had more rain falling through the early AM and still a fair bit of cloud drifting over. Outside the mercury is sitting on 26 degree’s Celsius (8.30AM) and Humidity @ 88%. Should be clearing towards midday for another hot and sunny afternoon with strong off shore wind.
