****MORNING SURF UP DATE****
Howdy folks and welcome back to the baliwaves (’99) for the “1 click” run down on surfing and weather conditions from there on real deal holiday island that’s got some thing for everyone, Bali.
Ok well yesterday I was indisposed due to the start of an important ceremony up in my family’s mountain side village. But Ketut filled in nicely with a run down to Uluwatu to coincide with the morning low tide. As you can see in this current gallery there were some nice barrels going down. Plus I really wanted to run those Padang Padang photo’s (98 of) again.
I also couldn’t help but notice on our drive up the East Coast yesterday that there was still plenty of swell hitting from Sanur all the way north to Candidasa. There might have also been a few long lines breaking in front of the Villa Mantani. Plus there were plenty of surfers on the same highway.
This mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs here in the sleepy little fisherman town of Tuban was showing or rather not showing too much happening. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left was only reaching the waist to chest high plus region. A few small but fun waves on Middle Reef and there might be one or two on Kuta Reef when the tide starts to run back in. Uluwatu would be the place to get the best size and power today.
Surfing conditions this morning were as clean as a whistle with only a light off-shore ESE breeze @ 1-3knot. For certain it will build in strength as soon as the Tradewind kicks in.
Tidal info for today has a 0.8mtr Low @ 10.00AM and then running hack in for a 1.7mtr High around the 3.30PM mark.
Weather wise it’s been a mostly cloudy start to the morning, with some sunny breaks. Right now @ 9.30AM the outside temperature is on 25 degree’s Celsius, humidity on 79%. Wind direction is out the NE @ 2-4knot.
Today’s G-Land Surf Report thanks to the G-Land Surf Camp was calling waves breaking on Kongs and Money Tree’s in the head to well over head range. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy at the time of the report (7.15AM East Java time). Should be another day of good waves when the tide turns and the off shore wind kicks in. Drop us a line here at baliwaves.com and we still should be able to get you a discounted trip into the ever awe inspiring location of G-land.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta (Bemo Corner) you’ll still find the Australian dollar exceptionally good holiday value at around the 1AU$=Rp9,050 mark give or take a few Rupiah.
The swell forecasters are calling for a very busy week of waves in transit to Bali. Hopefully we’ll start to see a steady increase in wave height through out this afternoon and into tomorrow. Then it’s going to be pretty much back to back medium sized swells one after the other.
How about this “retro” thing happening lately, about how cool that 70’s look is. Single fins, long hair etc, but how come you don’t see any aspiring young “kneelo’s” ? That’s about as retro as it gets I’m thinking.
