****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
A big hello to everyone tuning in and welcome back to your baliwaves (’99) for the latest and greatest news on surfing and wether conditions today here on everybody’s favorite surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Yesterday the 1st and it just wasn’t worth typing it up, wave height was only trickling through in the knee to waist high range between Bali and G-Land. So it was a well deserved rest day.
Today and it was back to the wave hunt. And with our 7.00AM surf check on the Outer Reefs showing some nice little waist to head high waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left, so we knew we were going to find some good one’s. It wasn’t that much longer and we were on our way South, down to Uluwatu.
Surfing conditions down at Ulu were perfect with a clean off shore wind coming out of the E-SE @ 14kms. Wave height was hitting the Main Peak and Temple sections in the solid 4ft range (well over head) but by 10.00AM there would have already been at least 80 surfers spread from Temple’s down to the Peak. After the High tide passed and she was running back out the Racetrack also had some nice and hollow waves peeling off down under the cliff face. Driving past Padang Padang and Impossible’s on the way home there looked to be some small lines bending down the Impossible stretch of reef, but not much happening at Padang Padang.
Tomorrow is going to be interesting to see how much bigger it gets with the charts calling for a fairly solid boost through Friday, Saturday and into Sunday. I suppose I’ll just have to wait for the mandatory early morning surf check to find out. I’ll keep you posted through random twitter up dates when we know.
Tidal info for today had a 2.5mtr High @ 10.30AM and then draining back out for a 0.1mtr reef exposing Low around the 5.00PM mark.
Weather wise today it was mainly sunny with a few cloudy patches, our midday temperature would have easily busted 33 degree’s Celsius and currently right now @ 6.30PM it’s still sitting on 27 C.
Today’s G-land Surf Report thanks to the G-Land Surf Camp was also calling wave height to be hitting the solid head to well over head range on Kongs and Money Tree’s. At 7.00AM East Java time surfing conditions were clean and glassy with 4 surfers in the water on Money Tree’s.
