****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hello to everyone tuning into the weekend here on the one and only original Bali surf report, baliwaves.com (’99) for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions. From here on the only place your going to get real wave value on your surfing holiday dollars.
Well it’s been a bit of a weird kinda day here on the island of the God’s. Starting off the day with a light Northerly wind and by 8.00AM raining. Our first check on the Outer Reefs, just down the road here in Tuban was looking reasonably ok. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport left was coming through in the 2-3ft+ range and clean enough for a paddle. NB: another check on the situation @ 12.00 midday was showing wave height now down in the 1-2ft+ sector and hardly breaking with the top of the tide just passing.
But with the tide on the rise and that wind coming out of the North we loaded up and headed for Canggu. As you’ve already seen in today’s 67 strong photo gallery (that makes 538 photos loaded so far this month, from Bali alone) there was some pretty sweet waves breaking on all 3 of the main sections. From the left hand reef out the front of the trendy cafe’s down through the sand bar to the right hander on the river mouth. Pretty normal crowd wise for Canggu and the wind holding out through till around 10.30AM.
Tidal info for today had us down for a 2.5mtr High @ 11.00AM and then rolling out for another low Low of 0.1mtr @ 5.00PM
Weather wise it’s been a mixed bag of light rain, scattered clouds and sunshine. Currently now @ 3.00PM we have an outside temperature of 27 degree’s celsius and humidity on 76%. Wind direction is coming out of the East @ 8-10knot.
Today’s G-land Surf Report thanks to the G-Land Surf Camp was calling wave height to be still holding in the head to double head high class. Perect waves hitting Money Tree’s with clean off shore wind and only 6 surfers in the water @ 8.15AM (East Java time). Also a chance for some Launching Pad action later in the afternoon if the swell holds in.
Today’s Lakey Peak Surf Report was saying that wave height had dropped off some over night and now a perfect head to well over head high on the Peak.
