****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Howdy folks and welcome to the start of another surfing week here on the baliwaves (’99) and the latest in surfing and weather information to come out of the ever popular surfing holiday island of Bali.
And what a week it will be coming up with no shortage of swell on the way. This mornings 6.30AM surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing a fairly consistent looking 2-3ft or waist to head high between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The tide was still pretty low at the time so the best waves were hitting Middle Reef (being best suited to the lower tide ranges).
Surfing conditions on the Outer Reefs were clean but with just a little bit of bump on the face with the wind coming hard out of the East @ 10-12knot.
As you may have noticed in today’s photo gallery we were down on location at Bali’s Premier surfing arena of Uluwatu. Arriving around 8.30AM to see head to well over head high waves hitting the Main Peak and the top end of the Racetrack. Still the odd one running down through the Track but the tide was rapidly filling in. Crowd wise it was one of the more mellower day’s with only something like 35 surfers spread from the Peak down to the Track.
Surfing conditions down at Uluwatu were also clean and tidy with off-shore wind gusting up to 12-14knot by that stage.
Tidal info for today had us down for a 0.7mtr Low @ 6.00AM and then rolling back in with a 2.4mtr High @ midday.
Weather wise it’s been a mainly hot and sunny one here in Bali. Currently outside right now @ 3.00PM the temperature is sitting on 27 degree’s Celsius, humidity on 71%. Wind direction is coming out of the SE @ 15-18knot.
Swell predictions for the next week at least are looking very good. The charts are calling for some very solid swell to start showing late this evening and keep pouring it on through Tuesday and Wednesday. Then tapering off on Thursday before we get backed up with another medium sized swell to keep the action coming till the end of next week. Then there could be another slightly smaller system coming in behind that again. Well keep an eye on the charts and keep you up to date through out the week.
Today’s G-Land surf report thanks to our friends at the G-Land Surf Camp was calling wave height to be hitting Kongs and all the way to the bottom of the Launching Pad in the solid double to double head high plus sector. Surfing conditions were just starting to improve with the off shore wind kicking in. No surfers in the water at the time of this report (8.00AM East Java).
