****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hello to all you surfers tuning into the baliwaves.com (’99) for the absolute latest and greatest news on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the always “in season” surfing holiday island of Bali.
This mornings 6.30AM surf check on the Outer Reefs was showing wave height to have backed off yet again and down into the waist to chest high plus region, between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. With the tide still running out hard Middle Reef was the best option along the stretch. Clean as a whistle surfing conditions with the wind light off shore out of the East.
But as you’ve already seen in today’s 48 strong photo gallery we were down on location at Bali’s premier surfing location of Uluwatu. By the time we were set up in Warung Surya over looking the Racetrack section the tide was just coming off the bottom of a reef / rock exposing 0.4mtr Low. I was also surprised to only find 8 surfers in the water on the Track, there would have been at least twice that many out on the Outer Reefs on our 6.30AM surf check.
At first wave height was only showing in the chest to head high range but as the tide started to creep up so did wave height pick up. It wasn’t that much longer that the number of surfers grew to around 40 between The Peak and the Track. The best waves at Ulu today were hitting The Peak and also plenty of long lines warping further down on the Temple section. I had to bail out by 11.00AM so I could get this report done and get to the airport for a new arrival pick up. But even as I got to the top of the stairs there was still wave after wave hitting The Peak.
Weather wise today it been another faultless day here on the holiday island and currently right now at 2.20PM the outside temperature is a warm 30 degree Celsius. Wind direction has swung a little more to the SE and gusting up to 19knot.
Today’s G-Land Surf Report thanks to our good friends over at the G-Land Surf Camp was calling wave height to be pumping onto Kongs and down through Money Tree’s in the head to Double head high class. At 10.00AM the wind was clean off shore with only 2 surfers in the water on Kongs.
