****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hello to all you wave hungry surfers tuning into the baliwaves (’99) for the latest, and always the greatest news on today’s surfing and weather conditions from the only place to head for a guaranteed good holiday, Bali.
And what a feast indeed we do have for ya’s today. Starting off with this mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs here in the sleepy little fishing suburb of Tuban. Wave height at 6.15AM was showing some solid waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left in the head to double head high plus sector. Surfing condition s at the time were perfect with a clean off shore Easterly wind fanning the lines.
But as you’ve seen in today’s monster surf gallery (97 photos strong) we bee lined it south straight for Padang Padang, and hopefully the start of the RipCurl Padang Padang Cup. Some nice waves hitting PP this morning with the odd set wave hitting a solid 6ft or tripple head high. No start to the contest with the organizers wanting it bigger and better for the main event. Even so there was a small star studded feild in the line up putting on a solid display of tube riding skills.
With still over 2 weeks of waiting time and another solid system still in transit to us there’s still a big big chance this contest is going to be on.
I also took another look at conditions down on the Outer Reefs around 4.30PM and it does appear wave height is starting to drop off. Still coming through on Middle Reef in the head to double head high class with strong SE off shore wind.
Tidal info for today had us down for a 0.4mtr Low @ 6.30AM and then filling back in with a 2.3mtr High around the 12.30PM mark.
Weather wise today it’s been just another hot and mainly sunny day here on the holiday island. Currently right now at 5.00PM the outside temperature is still a warm 27 degree’s Celsius with a Humidity level of 69%. Wind is SE @ 12-16knot+
Today’s G-Land Surf Report from our good friends over at the G-Land Surf Camp was calling wave height to be lining up on Money Tree’s down to the Launching Pad in the solid double to triple head high plus class. Clean off shore wind with only 1 surfer in the water at the time of this report, 8.00AM East Java.
