****MORNING SURF UP DATE****
Hi folks and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves (’99) for our Sunday Session on today’s surfing and weather conditions from here on the friendliest of all the tropical surfing holiday destinations, Bali.
Congratulations to Marlon Gerber for winning this years Rote contest and by doing so he also nails the No.1 spot for the 2011 ISC tour. No.1 Indonesian Surfer for 2011, Marlon Gerber. Full round up from Rote on, isctour.com
This mornings 7.00AM surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was showing slightly smaller waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. With the tide pretty well right on the bottom of a 0.3mtr Low tide Middle Reef was the only section that was surfable with waist to shoulder high waves and the occasional head high freak set. I’m thinking as the tide pushes back in for the 2.0mtr High around 1.00PM Airport Left might have a few fun waves for the grommets.
Surfing conditions on the Outers were perfect with a light off shore ESE wind @ 2-4knot.
Looking for a wave today and I’m thinking that Uluwatu would be the pick off the reef breaks here along the West Coast. You’d also find something for the whole family up along the, too many to mention different beach breaks of Legian and Kuta.
Today’s photo gallery has been happily provided by our friends from “ESP” located on the beach at “Julies Warung” Bingin. Most of these shots were taken yesterday afternoon on the run out tide.
Looking pretty good start to the day today with lots of blue sky. Outside right now at 9.30Am the temperature is sitting on 27 degree’s Celsius with the humidity on 84%. Wind direction i still coming from the ESE @ 2-5knot.
The swell prediction charts are looking good for Bali / Indonesia over the next 7 days with at least 2 different medium to large swells in transit to us. The first of should be showing by Tuesday afternoon and then another slightly smaller system riding in on the back of the first one on Friday.
