****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
hello surfers and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves.com (’99) for today’s news on surfing and weather conditions from right here on everybody’s favorite tropical holiday island of Bali.
This mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was still showing some ok size with 2-4ft or waist to over head high sets between Kuta Reef and Airport left. The tide was still running out, so again Middle Reef was the best option. Surfing conditions were fine with the wind already blowing off shore out of the SE @ 5-8knt. But by the time I went back down for a second check @ 11.00AM it looked like wave height was fading fast. Now down to 1-3ft with the tide filling in rapido.
So after something like 60 straight 12hr days of surf trips I called a lay day, after a solid home cooked lunch, and then fell asleep on the lounge watching TV, nice. Tomorrow also looks like being pretty small on the wave side of things so I might just back up today with some Balinese style sport fishing with my old mate Gede Ondel. But don’t dispair, Thursday is looking better with the (fingers crossed) arrival of some new swell for Bali.
Weather wise today it’s been hot and sunny with the temperature easily surpassing 30 degree’s on the Celsius scale. Wind direction has been pretty well off shore out of the SE between 5-12knot all day.
Today’s G-Land Surf Report thanks to our friends at the G-Land Surf Camp was calling in wave height to be still showing in the head to almost double head high class. With the best waves hitting Kongs and down through the Money Tree’s sections. At 9.15AM surfing conditions were clean and tidy with the wind already blowing off shore. Don’t forget to drop us a line if any of you would like a solid discount off your next trip into the G-Land Surf Camp.
I finally figured out why there are so many relatively new surfers in the water that don’t know the un written rules of surfing. I’m thinking it’s because of the high tech era we are living in this new breed of surfer hasn’t been able to “Google” for the answers ?
